A story of ingenuity and synergy

The modern-day TCA was born in 1985 to provide functional services to the goldsmith and silversmith industry of Arezzo. This exceptional industry dates back to the 1950s when it thrived nearby Arezzo city, and then it went on to spread to Italy and to the whole world.

This company was born out of the ingenuity and the dedication of people that had identified a need and were daring enough to invest in the new field of collection of waste and production residues. They provided not only their commitment and know-how, but also complex and expensive physicochemical treatment plants which could recover raw materials.

It was the year 1977 and entrepreneurial spirits were high. Pasquale Turchetti and Simone Tavanti decided to join forces and founded TCA Srl, whose purpose was to provide smelting services and metallurgical treatments. In the meantime, not too far away from where they were, Santi Rossi founded the company Metalchimica Srl and started to provide refining services, making the best out of his great personal talent and know-how gathered in the heart of the goldsmith industry of the time.

The two companies started collaborating on a regular basis and it became clear that they were perfectly complementing each other. This feature went on to become one of the pillars of the modern-day TCA SpA that makes it stand out from other players: as a matter of fact, TCA SpA is able to offer the whole recovery cycle.

From 1978 to 1985 the two companies worked hard. In 1985 they merged, thereby greatly increasing both companies’ potentials. The TCA company as we know it started to take shape, taking over skills and abilities, developing and fine-tuning the necessary plants, adding new, big facilities to meet all processing needs and going from a limited liability company to a company limited by shares in 1987.

Over the course of the next years, the company developed, expanded, invested and fine-tuned its know-how of the industry and its needs. Processes increased and so did the number of clients asking to sell recovered metal; in order to satisfy their request, the bullion bank was created. In 1991 one of the first strategic branches of the company was designed and built in Valenza (AL) to meet the needs of local craftsmen and companies that were developing in the area. In 1998 another branch was opened in Vicenza, while in 2005 the company turned to international markets satisfying additional requirements to be able to provide excellent services.

In 2014 the company was accredited in the LBMA Good Delivery list for gold and in 2016 for silver. We obtained the RJC certifications in 2016 and in 2022 we obtained the very important accreditation in the LPPM Good Delivery list, which allowed us to become one of the thirty companies in the world to be able to comply with very strict standards in terms of platinum and palladium quality.

Each moment of our story is marked by the emotions and efforts of all of those people that have worked hard to make the company grow. We are not done, yet; our future objectives are crystal clear in our minds and we are on the path leading us towards them.
